It’s been two weeks that I haven’t posted any recipes.
I have just thought of sharing a very quick and healthy breakfast recipe with you all.
UPMA is a healthy and yummy breakfast where no one would turn there face when it comes to Upma as breakfast especially kids.
Green beans-1/4 cup
Carrot -1/2 cup
Green peas-1/2 cup
Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds- 5 in number
Salt – as per taste
Olive oil- 50 ml
Ghee- 1 tsp (optional)
Green chilli-2 slited
Note: All the veggies and onion need to be cut into small pieces ,Ginger as well.
Take a clean , dry non stick pan.
Add oil and allow it become hot.
Then add mustard seeds, allow them to split.
Add asafoetida powder in the pan .
Add potatoes first and allow them to half cooked,then add the beans,carrot,green peas.
Sauté well and allow them to cook well,leaving the raw smell of those veggies goes away.
Then add the onions, ginger.
When onions become soft ,add those fenugreek seeds.
Allow them to roast well,but don’t burnt them.
If you want your dish to be colourful, you can add a pinch of turmeric powder as well
Add semolina and mix well. Sauté them until semolina become little roasted.
Add 2 cups of boiling water and mix well.
Close the pan with a lid for 2 minutes.
Then stir them very well.
At last add 1 tsp of ghee (extra flavour-healthy freaks don’t add ) mix well.
Mixed vegetables in semolina porridge is ready to serve.
Vegetables are not restricted,you can add any mild flavoured veggies.
